Eagles edge Argentina, and head to Japan next month
A one-point win in Fort Lauderdale, a squad built around pathway players, and two Japan tests in September you can actually watch.

The USA XV beat Argentina XV 25–24 in Fort Lauderdale on 15 August, holding
out a goal-line stand in the last minutes to take it by a single point.
Head coach Scott Lawrence said the match was "really about choosing
toughness" after two weeks of training camp in the Florida heat.
Why it matters here. Lawrence used the game to look at new players coming
through the eligibility and development pathways, with an eye on Rugby World
Cup 2027. That is the same pathway a North Carolina player enters through
Talent ID Days — the squad being picked now started somewhere like an NCYRU
age-grade fixture.
