Referee educators wanted — and the Southeast is short
USA Rugby is training new World Rugby certified referee educators, and named the South/Southeast as a region needing more local coverage.

USA Rugby is expanding its national training and education workforce, and is
looking for people to become World Rugby certified educators in refereeing.
The intake deliberately targets regions where there are too few local
educators — the South and Southeast among them. That is us. Every referee
course our clubs need has to be delivered by somebody, and at the moment that
somebody usually travels in.
What the role involves. Delivering World Rugby Level 1 and Level 2
refereeing courses in your region. You need Level 2 Referee or equivalent,
some experience presenting to adults, and the patience to teach people
starting from nothing.
Applications closed on 17 April 2026, and the successful candidates attended
the educator course in Charlotte in July. USA Rugby last ran an intake in 2023,
so this does not come round often — worth knowing about for next time.
